Royal Harbour Brasserie is a family run all day casual dining restaurant / bar with a good selection of draught beers, cocktails and wines.

Our menu is changed regularly with an emphasis on imaginative fish dishes, and we always have vegetarian, gluten free and meat options available.

The Royal Harbour Brasserie Access Statement

Introduction

Situated on the historic Royal Harbour Ramsgate. The Royal Harbour Brasserie offers a great dining experience with seafood based dishes with British and European influences and hand crafted patisseries in a relaxed surrounding. We use fresh, seasonal produce and do our best to cater for any dietary requirements; please contact us in advance with any specific requests.
Located at the end of the East pier, we offer great views of the inner harbour or the main sea. Access to the restaurant requires going up 17 widely spaced steps with sturdy hand rails on either side.

Pre-arrival

For full details and map of how to reach us please see the map on the website. Alternately, you can plan your journey by car or public transport using Google maps or www.transportdirect.info; simply enter your postcode and ours, which is CT11 8LS to get directions.
The nearest railway station is Ramsgate, which is just over 1 mile away (a 15-20 minute walk). Taxis are available at the station. If you require an accessible taxi this can be booked in advance, see contact details for details.
The Loop bus service is available outside the train station- ask the driver for the harbour and is approximately a 10 minute walk. All buses can accommodate one wheelchair. The Loop bus runs from the station via Ramsgate to Broadstairs, Margate, Westwood cross and back through to Ramsgate running either direction. Every 10 minutes Monday – Saturday and every 20 minutes on Sunday.
The main road leading to the restaurant is on the harbour wall which is has passing areas for cars to pass. The harbour arm has a solid wall on 1 side and railings on the other into the main harbour.

Car parking facilities and arrival

There is free parking on site for customers only. The car park is situated at the front of the restaurant. There are 7 allotted parking spaces.
There is additional parking nearby, at the bottom of the pier.
There is drop off space at the front of the restaurant within the car park with a wide turning space large enough for coach drop offs.
There are 17 steps leading to the main entrance with hand rails on either side. The front door is manual, light to push, opens inwards and can be opened into a double door.
We can assist should you need any help to enter the restaurant.

When waves are crashing over pier approach Brasserie steps leading to the restaurant with caution and vigelence and if uncertain don’t attempt and call restaurant on 01843599059 and they will escort you up the emergency access.

 

Restaurant seating and bar area

The restaurant and bar area have level access throughout.
The bar has several stools around it to accommodate those who want to drink.
The restaurant has a large u-shaped sofa area for comfortable, relaxed dining with bold zinc topped tables. On either side of the restaurant we have church pews with extendable tables with a mix of seats with or without arms. We also have highchairs for small children available on request.
During the day we rely on the natural daylight to set the mood in the restaurant, at night candles are lit and lights are dimmed to create a romantic and cosy atmosphere.
The flooring is wood throughout the entire restaurant.
We do our best to cater for any dietary requirements; please contact us in advance with any specific requests. Our friendly waiting team will help with any queries.
The restaurant is table service for both lunch and dinner, for those who aren’t hungry we have a vast selection of local beers and fine wine or local Kentish coffee with maybe a cake to accompany it.
Large print menus are available. Specials of the day are shown on blackboards placed around the restaurant. All staff can assist by running through menus with you.
There is background music in the restaurant and on occasion live musicians (please see events page on the website).

Customer toilets

Customer toilets can be found at the front of the restaurant by the front doors.
Toilets are maintained on a regular basis by both male and female staff.

Private dining/function

The entire restaurant can be hired for private functions with standard menu, buffet or a set 2/3 course menu available on request to suit your needs.
We cater for weddings, funerals, birthday parties or large gatherings. Outdoor area
We have a large sun terrace, which is used for dining during summer months. There is level access to the terrace area via the restaurant through a door that can be opened further to accommodate a pram etc. In fine weather the doors are kept open.
There is a full table service in this area, where staff is on hand to assist. Additional information
All our staff receive regular training that includes disability training.
We have a set of evacuation procedures; accessibility is taken into account as part of our fire assessment. Should you require assistance someone will come to your table and help you with evacuation either out of the building or to a refuge.
We welcome all dogs as long as leads are present. Water can be supplied upon request.
Clear signage is used throughout the premises using Ariel font and large black letters on yellow background.
Free WiFi internet access is available throughout the restaurant.

We will try to accommodate any booking requests; however please be aware that most bookings do ask for a window seat so we cannot guarantee this - be assured that all of our tables do have sea views!

We may not be able to answer the phone and speak during service hours, especially at the weekends so please do call back at another time, send us an email or book online.

No children under the age of 7 after 5pm in the restaurant, thank you.

About

Welcome to
The Royal Harbour Brasserie
by Adrian Mowl

Trained at the Dorchester Hotel, London, Adrian was executive chef in the London Olympic Village 2012. Prior to that Adrian launched the restaurant in Margate's Turner Contemporary Gallery, cooking the Gala dinner for HRH Queen Elizabeth II.

His travels have led him to tour extensively in Central America, Australia and Europe.

While working in Sweden, Adrian cooked for King Gustav of Sweden at the Nobel Peace prize dinner.
